HP and some new pajamas

HP and I have been keeping busy when Mama goes to work by doing all sorts of things and some days I even let him read to me when I am having trouble pronouncing the words. He got some new clothes recently including this sun hat that looks like a Spanish Conquistador helmet to me and some pajamas that his grandma sent him that I am particularly found of.

There is a Gnome in the woods

I have actually been out on the bike a couple days in a row and am thoroughly enjoying the trail conditions and all of the lush vegetation that has sprung up lately. I wound up on the Weatherford Trail the other day for the first time since the fire. I should have known better but I didn't even think about the fact that they used a bull dozer to improve that trail/road to burn from it. I was surprised to find smooth fresh trail on the lower half of the Weatherford trail instead of what seemed like a dry creek bed in its former state. Yesterday I was able to get out with the Gnome for a good ride and actually got some action shots of him tearing it up. Sorry about the photo quality but I am gonna blame my camera and not the photographer this time around.

A quick ride last evening

I was able to get out for a quick ride yesterday when Anne got home from work and actually snapped a photo before the noise of motorcycles churning up the trail scared me back onto my bike.

I figured I would throw a photo up from NM.

I recently went back to New Mexico with the family to visit family and took the bicycle along of course. I don't post much anymore but did get one photo that I am fond of so I decided to put it up here. I rode an old favorite trail of mine called the Quemazon trail that goes from town in Los Alamos up to the Pipeline road which continues up to Pajarito Ski Area or down back into town. I had not riden this trail since the fire in 2000 so I headed up to check it out. I figured the trail would have weathered the fire and aftermath fairly well do to the fact that is comprised of mostly rock on the steeper lower sections. I was correct in this assumption and although the day was really hot and there is not much shade anymore (yet)the ride was fun and as tough as I remember.
